The
prime minister of Bangladesh is the head of government having the supreme
executive power. If I were The Prime Minister of Bangladesh, I would have done
the following things for the welfare of the people and for the development of
the country.
First
of all, I would have instructed the police department to work independently
without dear or favor to bring the criminals to justice. I would have strictly
followed the principle of “reward for the good and punishment for the bad”.
Restoration of law and order would have been my topmost priority.
I
would have kept the prices of essential commodities under control and within
the reach if the common people. I would have made the Anti-corruption
Commission independent so that it could contribute to stop corruption and
punish the corrupt persons.
Another
priority of me would of essential been sustaining democratic atmosphere both
inside parliament and in the streets. I would have established a democratic,
transparent, accountable and responsible government for the welfare of people.
Any
terrorist activity would have been severely dealt with without considering it
from the petty political and partisan angle. These types of actions would have
fostered confidence in the opposition parties. At the same time their culture
of herbals would have become ineffective and it would have lost appeal to the
people.
After
doing all these inside the country. I would have concentrated on our
relationship with the neighboring countries, especially India. I would
vigorously pursue the economic diplomacy to promote our export to different
countries of the world. I would have pursued the giant foreign investors to
invest of Bangladesh. I would have offered them lucrative incentives for
investment
Regarding
the adverse propaganda and negative image of Bangladesh aboard. I would have
fought it out with positive actions, commitment, transparency, accountability
and sincerely but not with meaningless words of eloquence.
After
assuming the office of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, I would have risen
above party affiliation and become the Prime Minister of Bangladesh in true
sense of the term. I would have adopted pragmatic polices for solving the
problems of population, poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, health,
communication, etc. to raise the standard of living of the people
